“Her ability to use her vocal range and dynamics to pull the emotion out of songs and deliver "moments" is singular.”

Music that befriends. Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sammi Accola, 24, hails from Seaside, Florida, and crafts cinematic Americana and folk-rock songs that tell honest stories with vulnerability and grit.

Accola has opened for Thomas Rhett and performed at major festivals including the 30A Songwriters Festival (five consecutive years), Opelika Songwriters Festival, and Moon Crush Festival, where she opened for Caamp and Brandi Carlile–one of her guiding musical influences.

With a voice that is both tender and commanding, she has been praised by Saving Country Music as a “genuine star deserving of discovery,” whose “fearless and advanced lyricism is willing to explore the most difficult and sometimes tense of subject matters, and in often enrapturing ways.” The publication also noted her singular ability “to pull the emotion out of songs and deliver ‘moments,’” while remaining “seriously fun and disarming.”

In 2023, Accola formed a 10-piece band, becoming the first all-female act to perform at Belmont University’s “Best of the Best” showcase. She was also named a Nissan & Bose influencer and winner of the Belmont Artist Spotlight program.

A force for good, Accola draws inspiration from the healing work of Thistle Farms, supporting women survivors of human trafficking, abuse, and addiction. She believes all stories deserve to be heard and has partnered with the Beyond Bars Prison Program, where she leads songwriting workshops for incarcerated individuals—whom she calls “the most teachable students ever.”

On March 27, Accola released her debut album, A Candle on a Busy Street, co-produced by Latifah Alattas (Moda Spira/Page CXVI) and Lori Chaffer (Waterdeep)—a record she hopes, “inspires change, helps others wrestle with life’s seismic questions, and invites listeners to find a safe place to land.”

Music is a gift. Let’s share together.

"Sammi Accola knows which words to emphasize, & her intonation & phrasing are impeccable. A Candle on a Busy Street is real razzle-dazzle work. There’s nothing presumptuous, pretentious, or sugary. She can play Carnegie Hall or a rickety old juke joint in Mississippi. She’s a natural.”
